Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest is hiring a Medical Assistant for a full-time, 40-hour workweek on a Monday–Friday schedule, 8:00am–4:30pm, in the Neurosurgery Clinic located at Lake Forest Hospital.

The Medical Assistant supports physicians and nurses by facilitating patient flow, assisting with procedures (ECG, venipuncture, immunizations) and performing designated administrative duties. They ensure clean, safe care areas and professional patient interactions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills and proficient in basic office software.

Responsibilities

• Ensures efficient patient flow by guiding patients to exam rooms and preparing them for visits.
• Assists practitioners with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Maintains safe, clean exam rooms and proper inventory of vaccines and supplies.
• Interacts professionally with patients and care team to support patient satisfaction.
• Performs delegated procedures safely according to protocols for the specialty.
• Completes onboarding certifications within six months as required.
