Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Lake Forest, IL, seeks a Medical Assistant for the Neurosurgery clinic at Lake Forest Hospital. This full-time, 40-hour-per-week role supports physicians and nurses, manages patient flow, and assists with procedures and clinical tasks. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS/CPR, and certification within six months from options like CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NAHP. 0–2 years’ experience preferred; EMR experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Certification in CMA/AMT/NCCT/NHA/NAHP within six months of employment.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow and prepare patients for examination.
• Assist with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations and other procedures.
• Maintain exam rooms and inventory; ensure cleanliness and safety.
• Communicate effectively with patients and care teams.
• Perform delegated procedures as per specialty protocols.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
