Mayfield Clinic, Inc. is seeking a flexible Medical Assistant to support Neurosurgery and Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation teams. The role blends clinical and administrative duties with priorities shifting by provider needs, patients, and team dynamics.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma and preferably completion of a Medical Assisting program, plus relevant experience and EMR familiarity. This on-site position emphasizes compassionate patient care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required; graduate of a Medical Assisting program preferred.
• Prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred, not required.
• Prior experience working with electronic medical record software preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and medical records for visits.
• Greet and room patients, document weight, medications, allergies, histories, and family history.
• Coordinate patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations.
• Assist with injections, wound care, EMG-related preparation, and other office-based treatments.
• Prepare examination rooms and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Obtain laboratory results, imaging reports, and outside medical records.
• Communicate with pharmacies, hospitals, imaging centers, and other healthcare providers as needed.
• Provide patients with instructions regarding medications, procedures, follow-ups, and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate, timely EMR documentation.
• Place orders for medications and pre-op tasks on behalf of physicians; complete surgery consents.
• Follow infection control, HIPAA, OSHA, and practice policies.
• Provide cross coverage for team members during high-volume days.
• Leverage Mayfield technology including Outlook and Teams.
• Other duties as assigned.
