Job summary

ST. CHARLES HEALTH SYSTEM in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a Medical Assistant to manage daily patient flow in a neurosurgery clinic. You will triage patient information to support accurate assessments and anticipate physician needs, while ensuring a clean, confidential, and safe environment.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, MA certification by AMT/NCCT/AAMA/NAHP/NHA or Oregon licensure, and BLS. Prior MA experience is preferred, with familiarity in ICD-10 and EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Must have basic ICD-10/CPT/HCPCS knowledge.
• Experience with medical office documentation and HIPAA.
• Current MA certification from AMT, NCCT, AAMA, NAHP, or NHA; Oregon licensure preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Two years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
• Record and maintain patient data in chart and EHR.
• Assist physician with phone requests from patients and other professionals.
• Perform physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical tasks (excluding IV meds).
• Maintain equipment and supply inventories.
• Support Lean principles and a safe care environment.
• Deliver professional, confidential patient care and adhere to policies.
