Job summary

St. Charles Health System in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Neurosurgery Clinic. The MA will manage daily patient flow, triage information for physician assessments, and anticipate physicians' needs related to patient care.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, documenting data, handling call requests, and performing specified physician-requested procedures (excl. IV meds). A high school diploma or GED is required, with MA certification and experience preferred.

  • Basic knowledge of CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions.

Our MAs collaborate with physicians and non-clinical staff to assure we are providing our community with comprehensive and compassionate health care.**POSITION OVERVIEW:** The **Medical Assistant** is responsible for daily patient flow for each respective physician for whom they work. They must use triage skills to gather information from which designated staff can make appropriate patient health assessments and to anticipate physician's needs as they relate to the patients' medical care.This position does not manage any other caregivers.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:**Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for physician assessment.Records and maintains patient's medical data in patient's medical chart.Assists physician with answering phone requests from patients and/or other medical professionals and institutions.Performs a variety of physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical patient procedures.
