Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England's outpatient Neurology practice in Hartford seeks an organized front desk/clerical assistant to help keep patient flow smooth and the operation efficient. You will greet patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, assist with registrations and insurance verifications, process copays, referrals and authorizations, and provide clerical support to providers and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in medical office or billing preferred.
• Knowledge of patient billing and medical terminology preferred.
• Excellent keyboard skills; accuracy and dependability required.
• Proficiency in Windows-based computer environments and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients courteously in person or by phone.
• Answer phones promptly using appropriate scripting.
• Schedule appointments following department protocols.
• Assist with registration, insurance verification, copays, prior authorizations, and referrals.
• Prepare charts and manage faxes; provide clerical support to providers and staff.
