Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider (APRN/PA/CNS) for Neurosurgery III at Akron General Medical Center. This part-time role covers day, evening, night, and weekend shifts with 12-hour schedules.

The APRN/PA/CNS collaborates with the health care team to promote health, prevent disease, and treat acute and chronic conditions. Responsibilities include comprehensive exams, diagnostics, education, and coordination of care.

Qualifications

• MSN/APRN program graduate or equivalent.
• MSN required upon hire or within 3 years for external hires moving to APRN role.
• NCCPA/Certification for PA or CNS credentials as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Conducts thorough medical histories and physical examinations; initiates labs and tests; develops diagnosis and treatment plan.
• Performs routine and specialized diagnostic procedures as credentialed and privileged.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as allowed by license and policy.
• Educates patients about disease, treatments, side effects, and hazards.
• Participates in medical rounds; collaborates with nursing and medical staff to ensure quality care.
• Refers patients to specialists for consultation or resources as needed.
• Ensures continuity of care; liaises with multi-disciplinary team and other specialties.
• Participates in quality monitoring and outcome reviews; supports discharge planning and regulatory compliance.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and educational development within the team.
• May conduct research, assist in data collection, and serve as a clinical preceptor.
