Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for the critical care team to support PRN coverage. The provider will work with the ICU and be involved in rounds, procedures, and rapid response activities to care for adults with life-threatening illnesses.

You will be on a rotating 13 shifts per month schedule, 12-hour shifts, day and night, with weekend coverage under an attending intensivist.

Qualifications

• MSN or higher degree required for APRN licensure
• Graduate of an accredited APRN program
• PA Master’s degree or higher for PA role per state licensing
• English language proficiency for oral and written communication
• BLS and ACLS/PALS certifications as required by policy and ICU setting

Responsibilities

• Conducts medical histories and physical examinations; develops working diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures and routine tests as credentialed.
• Prescribes and monitors medications as allowed by license and policy.
• Educates patients and coordinates care with the health care team.
• Participates in rounds and discharge planning; ensures continuity of care.
