Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Acute Care NP/PA/CNS) for the Medical ICU III Nights team on a part-time basis. The practitioner will provide care to adults with life-threatening illnesses and will work with an attending intensivist on-site 24/7.

Duties include ICU rounding, procedures such as intubations and line insertions, and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality patient care during the night shifts.

Qualifications

• ACNP/PA/CNS with ICU or critical care training.
• MSN/APRN or PA Master’s degree required.
• National certification as APN/PA/CNS.
• Licensed as RN and credentialed by state boards.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document comprehensive histories and physical examinations.
• Lead ICU rounds and Rapid Response when appropriate.
• Perform and interpret routine and specialized diagnostic tests.
• Perform procedures (intubation, central/arterial lines) as credentialed.
• Prescribe and monitor medications within licensure.
• Educate patients and families about disease and treatments.
• Collaborate with nursing and other care teams to ensure quality care.
• Support discharge planning and regulatory compliance.
