Job summary

Riverside Health Medical Group in Virginia seeks a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) to join the Neurosurgery team. You will collaborate with neurosurgeons to deliver inpatient and outpatient care, participate in evaluations, treatment planning, and post-operative management for spine and brain conditions.

The ideal candidate holds an APRN license (VA or eligible), Board Certified/Eligible, and a valid DEA registration.

Qualifications

• Virginia APRN license or eligibility; Board Certified or Board Eligible; DEA registration.
• Strong oral and written communication; collaborative with physicians and providers.
• Experience in neurosurgery or acute care is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations.
• Evaluate neurosurgical consultations in ED, inpatient units, and clinic settings.
• Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising neurosurgeons.
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies including labs and imaging.
• Assist with pre-operative evaluations and postoperative patient management.
• Provide inpatient rounding and follow-up care for neurosurgical patients.
• Coordinate patient care across multidisciplinary teams.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and recovery.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR and participate in call coverage.
