Job summary

.Cleveland Clinic Akron General is hiring an RN for the Neuroscience Med/Surg unit at Akron General Medical Center. The role focuses on delivering high-quality nursing care to stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neuro patients on a 22-bed unit.

The position requires RN licensure, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and BLS. Opportunities for research, shared governance, and specialty certifications are available, with a 7:00am-7:30pm schedule and dayshift on a 0.9 FTE basis.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN).
• Current state RN licensure in Ohio.
• BLS certification through AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on the Neuroscience Med/Surg unit.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for the patient population.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals with patients and families, act as patient advocate.
• Administer treatments and medications, document care
• Participate in interdisciplinary evaluation of outcomes and quality improvement.
• Delegate tasks and pursue ongoing education and certifications.
