Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital in Akron, OH seeks an experienced RN for the 9100 Neuroscience Unit, a private 22-bed team caring for patients with strokes, TBIs, spinal injuries and post-craniotomy care.

As a caregiver on this team you will deliver direct nursing care, assess and update care plans, involve patients and families, administer treatments and document, while pursuing research opportunities and specialty certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program).
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care on the Neuroscience Unit.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for stroke, TBI, spinal injuries and post-craniotomy patients.
• Complete ongoing assessments, recognize changes in patient condition and respond appropriately.
• Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in care and serve as a patient advocate.
• Provide nursing care, administer treatments and medications, and document.
• Delegate tasks and pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications.
