Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Research Technician for the Sippy Lab in the Neuroscience Institute. The role supports laboratory operations, mouse colony management, and regulatory oversight, including IACUC/IBC/EHS compliance and grant administration.

Responsibilities include histology, tissue imaging, animal handling, controlled substances management, and procurement, with strong emphasis on organization and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field with one year of experience.
• Effective oral and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Laboratory Operations and Research Support: perform histology, injections, tissue imaging and related techniques; manage organization, procurement, and training.
• Mouse Colony Management: oversee breeding, genotyping, colony planning, census, animal allocations and records; coordinate transfers and euthanasia.
• Regulatory Compliance and Animal Research Oversight: ensure IACUC/IBC/EHS compliance, prepare protocol submissions and audits.
• Controlled Substance Management: manage licensing, purchasing, inventory, and regulatory compliance with DEA/NYS BNE.
• Finance and Grant Administration: manage purchasing, vendor onboarding, procurement card reconciliations, reimbursements, and budgets; assist with grant administration.
• Administrative Duties: manage PI calendar, onboarding of personnel, training requirements, and institutional documentation.
