Job summary

UC San Diego is hiring a Lab Assistant I in Neurosciences to support behavioral, surgical, imaging, histology, and molecular workflows under supervision. You will help maintain records, inventories, and sample management while coordinating with the PI on research progress.

This 100% career position requires a willingness to learn lab techniques and work with mice, with a schedule of Days, 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday at La Jolla/site. Training provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with science exposure required.
• Foundational knowledge in biology/neuroscience recommended.
• Willingness to learn lab techniques under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mouse behavioral, surgical, imaging, histological, and molecular procedures.
• Maintain organized records, inventories and workflows.
• Interact with the PI and discuss results; support day-to-day lab operations.
