Qualifications

• Master’s degree (or equivalent) or 5 to 10 years of experience in the relevant specialization.
• Terminal degree (or equivalent) or 10 or more years of experience in the relevant specialization.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
• Willingness and ability to learn new methods and skills for changing research priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a research team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, coordinate work tasks with others, and meet multiple deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform stereotaxic surgeries to deliver viruses and drugs to specific anatomic sites in the mouse brain.
• Perform two-photon calcium imaging in the brains of awake, behaving mice.
• Perform immunostaining of brain slices to characterize gene expression in the nervous system.
• Run behavioral assays in conjunction with optogenetics or in vivo calcium imaging.
• Genotyping and mouse colony maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
