Job summary

Stanford Health Care in Palo Alto, CA, seeks a Neuroscience Engineer to provide technical support for the DBS lead implant program. Qualifications

  • Master's degree required.
  • Minimum of 2 years directly related experience.
  • Ability to work with neurosurgeons and care teams.
  • Knowledge of clinical protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with DBS lead implant surgeries or neurophysiological monitoring preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for DBS lead implant cases from start to finish, coordinating with neurosurgeons, neurologists, nurses, scrub techs and the OR team.
  • Maintain inventory of single-use supplies and manage vendor quotes, POs, and backorders.
  • Prepare required supplies and equipment before cases and ensure reusable devices are appropriately processed after cases.
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot the OR audio system used during microelectrode recording.
  • Assist research teams in preparing for the OR and integrating protocols with surgical workflow.
  • Provide technical support for patient testing in the Autonomic Lab and support research activities across modalities.
  • Analyze neural and imaging data and develop pipelines to support reproducible research.
