Job summary

Children's Hospital Colorado seeks a Clinical Nurse Supervisor (Associate Clinical Manager) to lead a Neuropsychiatric Inpatient unit in Aurora. You will supervise staff, ensure evidence-based practice, and partner with multidisciplinary teams to meet patient and family needs.

As a 4-days-per-week schedule with evenings/weekends as needed, you will act as a charge nurse, manage admissions/discharges, and support professional development of the team while monitoring quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in good standing
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing; Master's preferred
• Minimum three years of clinical experience
• BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least 6 months left before expiration; ANCC clinical specialty certification; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS), and/or ENPC may be required depending on unit

Responsibilities

• Manages the implementation and maintenance of unit/department policies, procedures, and guidelines ensuring consistency with evidence-based practice and organizational standards.
• Leads team members in direct patient care, promoting Professional Practice Model and standards.
• Acts as charge nurse: schedules, assigns, oversees admissions/discharges, and monitors medicines/supplies.
• Interprets regulatory standards and hospital policies to ensure compliance with quality/safety initiatives.
• Ensures staffing resources match patient and unit needs.
• Partners with multidisciplinary team to meet clinical needs; rounds with patients/families to improve experience and care quality.
• Resolves operational and patient/family issues, considering multiple perspectives.
• Supports team development and conducts coaching and mentoring for professional growth.
• Collaborates with CNE/CNS to meet unit educational needs and monitors staff competencies.
• Advises Clinical Manager on hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Monitors unit expenditures and participates in budgeting
