Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards.
• Discharge, perform callbacks and refill medications.
• Educate clients and gather histories for clinicians.
• Perform physical exams and monitor vital signs.
• Understand normal vital parameters.
• Assist with IV catheters and venipuncture.
• Set up and troubleshoot IV fluid pumps.
• Restrain patients during exams and diagnostics.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Assistant in Kirkland, Washington!

Pay

$22 - $31 / hour

Pay is dependent on experience and leveling through the Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked on weekends.

• Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant, You Will

• Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Discharge, perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Set up intravenous fluids.
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
