BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a knowledgeable Veterinary Assistant to join our Neurology Team. The role involves patient intake and triage, setting up the MRI room, operating imaging equipment, and assisting with radiographs and diagnostic tests.

You will perform venipuncture and IV placement, and provide clear discharge instructions to clients. This position supports our Neurology Clinicians and maintains accurate medical records while collaborating with hospital staff to

• Perform Diagnostics (CBC, Chem Panel, NOVA, iSTAT, UA).
• Collaborate with technical staff to ensure optimal patient care.

Job description

Our BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tacoma, WA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our Neurology Team!

VA Pay: $22 - $29 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant, You Will Perform

• Patient intake and triage
• Set-up and troubleshoot MRI room and machine
• Operating diagnostic imaging equipment and assist in capturing radiographs and other diagnostic images
• Venipuncture and intravenous catheter placement, according to associate level
• Clear and concise discharge instructions to clients.
• Maintenance of accurate records, including patient history, treatment details, and client communication. Assist with the completion of cost estimates.
• Diagnostics (i.e: CBC, Chem Panel, NOVA, iSTAT, UA)
• Work in conjunction with all technical staff across the hospital to ensure hospitalized patients receive optimal care. Maintain open communication with the Neurology Clinicians.

Our Continuing Education Plan

includes $500/year reimbursement for CVT and $750/year for VTS. The Continuing Education allowance can roll over up to $1,500 for CVT and VTS associates. Non-Credentialed, full-time Paraprofessionals are eligible for an annual CE stipend of $150. Full-time CVT associates also receive 8 hours of CE paid hours each year. Full-time VTS associates receive 12 hours of CE paid each year. Paid CE hours can be carried over year to year up to a maximum of 24 hours. Newly hired associates will receive a pro-rated amount of any CE benefit for which they are eligible.
