Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Olympia, WA is seeking an experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to support our neuro patients and collaborate with a skilled veterinary team. The role involves anesthesia management, CRI setup, and post-care client education within a fast-paced hospital setting.

The ideal candidate is an LVT with neurology knowledge, strong math skills, and the ability to work closely with clinicians and caregivers to ensure excellent patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• LVT required and trained in veterinary neurology.
• Strong knowledge base in neuro care and patient monitoring.
• Ability to perform nursing tasks and client education.

Responsibilities

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculate medical dosages and concentrations (mcg/mg, %/mg).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia.
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients and educate clients on basic care.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Olympia, Washington is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $23 - $40 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked on weekends.

• Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc..Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
