Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland, Washington is seeking an experienced Neurology Veterinary Technician to join a fast-paced team. You will assist with anesthesia, patient care, and neurology procedures, with opportunities to work alongside MRI and CT imaging specialists.

Qualifications

• Licensed Veterinary Technician or eligible for licensure (LVT).
• Experience in neurology or critical care is preferred.
• Comfortable with anesthesia monitoring and nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist anesthesia induction and recovery.

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Kirkland, Washington is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Technician!

Pay: $23 - $48 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through Kahuna leveling system.

We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked on weekends.

• Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum.

As a Neurology Veterinary Technician, You Will

• Set up constant rate infusions (CRI).
• Calculates all medical math including advanced and CRI (mcg/mg, %/mg, etc).
• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia
• Set up for MRI and CT procedures.
• Discharge neuro patients from the hospital, including basic client education such as manual bladder expression, sling walking, range of motion, etc..Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values
• Perform call backs and refill medications
• Client education, gathering histories and communicating that to the Clinician
• Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort.
• Understand normal vital parameters
• Comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture
• Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
• Restrain patients during consults and during diagnostics
