Job summary

Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a part-time Unit Clerical Assistant for weekends to perform receptionist and clerical duties on the assigned unit. You will represent the hospital with strong customer service, help families with information, and ensure visitation guidelines are followed.

The role supports the care team, handles calls and messages, greets visitors, and keeps waiting areas orderly while maintaining records. Weekend shifts are scheduled Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience as secretarial/administrative coordinator in hospital/doctor's office.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates effective communication/customer service.
• Serves as a receptionist to all visitors, provides information, and takes/delivers family messages.
• Interacts with health care team to meet patient and family needs.
• Answers patient calls promptly and notifies clinicians.
• Greets visitors and provides hospital information and directions.
• Maintains waiting areas and visitation records as appropriate.
• Performs clerical duties and coordinates unit communications.
• Participates in Quality Improvement Program.
