Job summary

Capital Medical Group, part of Independence Physician Management (IPM) and a UHS subsidiary, seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to support the Neurology & Rehabilitation Medicine clinic at 2150 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC. The role combines clinical and administrative tasks to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of MA experience, current BLS/CPR/AED, MA certification, and strong EMR skills with HIPAA compliance commitment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification required.
• Certification and Registration as a Medical Assistant required.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow, room patients, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs, pain scores, medications, medical history, and other information in the EMR.
• Assist providers with examinations, procedures, testing, and specimen collection as permitted.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and clinical supplies.
• Support medication reconciliation and assist with medications or injections when appropriate.
