Job summary

Capital Medical Group – a Capital Medical Group affiliate under Independence Physician Management (IPM), a UHS subsidiary – is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for onsite support in Washington, DC. The role delivers clinical and administrative support within a multi-specialty clinic network.

The position requires a Medical Assistant credential, BLS/CPR/AED, and at least one year of MA experience. You will assist with patient flow, vital signs, EMR data entry, specimen handling, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program required.
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification required.
• Certification and Registration as a Medical Assistant required.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient flow, room patients, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs, medications, medical history, and other required information in the EMR.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, instruments, and clinical supplies.
• Support medication reconciliation and assist with medications or injections when appropriately authorized, supervised, and permitted.
• Provide provider-directed patient instructions and communicate concerns or abnormal findings to the appropriate clinical staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA, infection prevention, safety, organizational, and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned within the Medical Assistant’s permitted scope of practice.
