Job summary

Capital Medical Group, part of Independence Physician Management (IPM) and a UHS subsidiary, seeks an experienced Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in Bethesda. You will assist physicians with procedures, manage patient preparation, vital signs, and specimen collection, and coordinate care across a multi-specialty setting.

The role requires a Medical Assistant credential, CPR/BLS, and at least one year of MA experience, with potential for growth within UHS’s 300+

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited or approved Medical Assistant program required.
• Current BLS/CPR/AED certification required.
• Certification and Registration as a Medical Assistant required.
• Minimum of one year of Medical Assistant experience required.
• Two to three years experience of general patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians in providing treatments and procedures and facilitate efficient patient care.
• Perform administrative duties as assigned by physician.
• Take and record patient histories, vital signs, and prepare for examinations.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with minor procedures.
• Administer oral and injectable medications as prescribed, under supervision.
• Record and communicate lab results and manage specimen processes.
• Maintain clean clinical environment and inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Triage calls and provide information to physicians for decision making.
• Observe and review procedures to support ongoing clinical activities.

Education
