Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina, part of HCA Healthcare, offers PRN Nurse Extern opportunities to join the nursing team while you complete your nursing program and gain hands-on experience. This role supports safe, compassionate care and prepares you for more advanced responsibilities as you progress.

As a Nurse Extern, you will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, support mobility and comfort, document care, and learn under supervision to build confidence for a future RN role.

Qualifications

• BCLS/CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Enrolled in an accredited nursing program in good standing.
• NC (CNA) certification is required or current.

Responsabilités

• Provide essential patient care including ADLs, vital signs, mobility support, and comfort.
• Perform basic nursing tasks as experience grows (wound care, catheter care, specimen collection).
• Document care and communicate updates to the nursing team.
• Explain care plans to patients and families to support understanding and recovery.
• Maintain clean, safe patient areas and follow infection prevention practices.
• Engage in learning opportunities and collaborate with supervisor to develop a personal career plan.
