Job summary

Endeavor Health in Arlington Heights is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Neurology Unit Night shift. You will assist patients with personal care, mobility, and monitoring, under RN/LPN supervision.

This role includes EKGs, specimen collection, and documentation in the EMR. The position requires a CNA certificate, EMT or paramedic training background or current nursing program enrollment with clinical rotations, and an American Heart Association CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited CNA course and CNA certification exam.
• EMT or paramedics training course completed or current enrollment in accredited nursing program with at least one major clinical rotation.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care (bathing, grooming, oral care, eating, bedpan/urinal, positioning).
• Assist with exercising and ambulating patients with proper body mechanics.
• Obtain vital signs, input/output checks, accu-checks; report abnormalities to RN/LPN.
• Perform procedures as directed by RN/LPN (EKG, Foley care, backrubs, etc.).
• Collect specimens (urine, stool, sputum) and document care in EMR.
• Support admissions, discharges, transfers, and patient transport as directed.
