Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking an active Medical Assistant with 6 months of experience and excellent customer service to support Neurology clinics in Clinton, MD. The role covers both clinical and administrative duties, including venipuncture, vaccines, vital signs, and patient education, with potential to float to other MedStar sites.

You will work under physician/provider supervision, participate in team huddles, and engage in population health, quality, and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year 6 months experience in ambulatory care required; externship preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient preparation and examinations, and with minor procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and ensure proper patient flow.
• Screen patients for preventive care needs and coordinate follow-up tasks.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and basic clinical testing per site requirements.
