Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform clinical and administrative duties in an ambulatory care setting under supervision. The role includes venipuncture, immunizations, vital signs, patient education, and support for the care team.

You may float to other sites within the system based on needs. Responsibilities include assisting with exams, minor procedures, and coordinating tests and referrals.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Less than 1 year experience in ambulatory care required; externship strongly preferred.
• Certification: CMA or RMA within 1 year; CPR/BLS within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with patient exams and procedures.
• Perform venipuncture, vaccine administration, and vital signs.
• Provide clerical support and patient education.
• Document activities in EMR and manage test requisitions.
• Float to other sites within the system as needed.
• Support population health initiatives and care transitions.
