University of Maryland Capital Region Health is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our neuroscience team with a primary focus in Neurointerventional Radiology. The role supports neurosurgery, neurocritical care, and elective neurosurgical services, with day shifts and opportunities for cross-coverage across neuroscience service lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Active Maryland license through the Maryland Board of Physicians (PA) or Maryland Board of Nursing (NP).
• For Nurse Practitioners: completion of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program.

Responsibilities

• Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive care to acutely and critically ill patients.
• Obtain comprehensive medical histories and perform physical examinations.
• Participate in daily patient rounds.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing and laboratory studies.
• Develop initial diagnoses and treatment plans in collaboration with physicians.
• Assist with coordination and management of patients undergoing neurointerventional evaluation and treatment.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and ongoing care.
• Perform suturing and wound care; assist in the operating room when needed.
