Job summary

Ochsner Health invites an Allied Health professional to join the neurology diagnostics team. Under direct supervision, you will prepare patients and perform testing procedures including EEG, EP, NCS, TCD, and IOM to assist in diagnosing nervous system disorders.

Responsibilities include patient setup, electrode placement per the 10-20 system, history documentation, data analysis, and ensuring OSHA/JCAHO compliance. BLS is required; associate degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control standards for patients and equipment.
• Proficiency with computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication to present information clearly.
• Ability to build rapport with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Performs END duties under supervision.
• Records pertinent history from patient or chart.
• Sets up patients for EEG, EP, NCS, TCD or IOM.
• Applies recording electrodes using the 10-20 system.
• Conducts diagnostic studies with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoots equipment and differentiates artifacts.
• Follows infection control standards for patient/equipment.
• Maintains professional development and credentials.
• Adapts approach to patient population and privacy requirements.
• Performs other related duties as required.
