Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking an Electroneurodiagnostic Technologist to support neurological diagnostics. Under supervision, you will prepare patients and conduct EEG, EP, NCS, TCD or IOM studies, apply electrodes, and document findings to aid diagnosis. You will troubleshoot equipment and maintain infection control standards.

Required: high school diploma, BLS; preferred associate degree and 2 years related experience. Ability to adapt to patient needs and schedule flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• 2 years related experience preferred.
• Strong communication and patient care skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA/JCAHO guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties outlined for END under supervision.
• Accurately takes and documents pertinent history from patient or chart.
• Sets up patients for EEG, EP, NCS, TCD or IOM.
• Applies recording electrodes according to the 10-20 system.
• Performs diagnostic studies with proper documentation and observation.
• Troubleshoots equipment and artifacts; differentiates normal from abnormal.
• Maintains infection control standards for patient and equipment.
• Maintains professional development and credentials.
• Adapts approach for different patient populations and communications.
• Performs other related duties as required.
