Aufgaben

• Performs and maintains competency in EEGs, portable inpatient EEGs, applying electrodes on predetermined positions and calibrating equipment.
• May perform ambulatory EEG monitoring and other EEG modalities as needed.
• Prepares patient for exam and gathers history, explains procedures to patient and family.
• Follows laboratory standards and adjusts settings or montages to obtain optimal recordings.
• Recognizes artifacts and takes steps to monitor/eliminate them.
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and reports to supervisor.
• Performs clerical duties including scheduling, archiving, and charge entry.
• Handles patient positioning and lifting within safety guidelines.
