Job summary

UVA Health is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist 1 (EEG) to join our collaborative team. You will perform EEG and Evoked Potential studies, prepare patients, apply electrodes, and document findings that guide diagnosis and care.

This role emphasizes compassionate patient care, technical precision, and ongoing learning in a renowned academic health system. Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in a patient environment (pediatric preferred) and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or graduation from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or an Associate’s Degree; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience in a patient environment; pediatric experience preferred.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform EEG and Evoked Potential studies on pediatric and adult patients.
• Review patient histories and prepare patients for testing.
• Explain procedures to patients and families while helping reduce anxiety.
• Apply electrodes and obtain high-quality diagnostic recordings.
• Monitor studies and troubleshoot technical issues as needed.
• Document findings accurately and ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Partner with physicians and healthcare teams to support diagnosis and care planning.
• Deliver exceptional patient experiences across outpatient and inpatient settings.
