Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse for the Transitional Care Center to support complex pediatric patients transitioning from ICU to home. The role operates on a night shift with a 0.6 FTE schedule, 24 weekly hours, and a Regular status.

You will monitor clinical data, follow protocols, educate families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, high-quality care while meeting regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Must have an Associate or Diploma in Nursing with 2+ years of experience; if hired without a BSN/MSN, must enroll within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
• Preferred: BSN or MSN from ACEN/CCNE/NLN CNEA accredited institutions.
• Active Ohio RN License; may require other state licensure.
• Foreign graduates must have license validated through TruMerit per Ohio Board of Nursing code.

Responsibilities

• Compliance: maintain regulatory and accreditation standards, ensure certifications and Safety College requirements are fulfilled.
• Uses systems thinking to support family through care coordination and ensure CMS standards compliance.
• Clinical judgment: collect data, follow protocols, document care plans and outcomes.
• Clinical inquiry: pursue ongoing learning to improve patient care, seek help in unusual care situations when needed.
• Collaborates with interprofessional team in decision making at the point of care.
• Interprofessional Practice: integrate IPM in practice.
• Advocacy and cultural inclusion: respect patient rights and include culturally inclusive concepts in care.
• Patient Care: deliver age-specific and culturally appropriate care.
