Job summary

You will perform assessments, plan and implement care, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and advocate for patient safety and optimal outcomes. Requires a BSN, Texas RN license, BLS, ACLS within six months, and at least one year of RN experience.

Qualifications

• BSN required upon hire.
• Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification by the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
• At least one year of RN experience upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assessment: admission and ongoing assessment of patient condition; provide nursing care addressing physical, psychological, and spiritual needs; notify doctor of changes.
• Planning: design, direct, evaluate, and document the plan of care and discharge planning; collaborate with other disciplines; set daily goals.
• Implementation: prepare patients for treatments and procedures; report significant changes; follow safety protocols; monitor medication safety and orders.
• Evaluation: reassess patients after interventions; notify physician to modify care as needed; adapt to changing patient needs.
• Report Skills: give and receive bedside shift reports with family involvement; ensure continuity of care across shifts.
• Environment & Patient Safety: maintain safe environment; manage equipment and supplies; report safety concerns.
• Supplies: document charges and supplies used for patient care.
• Time Management: clock in/out per policy; obtain approvals for overtime.
• Documentation: record in patient/unit records per standards.
• License and Competency: maintain RN license in Texas; assist with orientation and floated staff as needed.
• Professional Responsibility: maintain licenses/certifications; attend mandatory trainings and meetings; stay updated with literature.
• Patient Care: escalate life-threatening changes and apply nursing process per ERD framework.
• Patient Experience: foster compassionate care; conduct hourly rounding and bedside shift reports; support service recovery.
