Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join a world-class team supporting complex neurosurgical procedures. You will maintain a sterile field, pass instruments, and assist the RN and surgeon during operations.

Night shifts with a 13-hour schedule after orientation; orientation is 3 months. Qualifications include a CAACH/ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent, CST or TS-C, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program accredited through CAAHEP/ABHES or completion of a military surgical technology program
• Certification CST or TS-C required for candidates who have not completed an accredited Surgical Technology program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA or Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub functions and assist in circulating functions under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Set up the sterile table and ensure supplies, drugs and equipment are available
• Assist RN in counting all sponges, instruments, etc. during surgery
• Assist in gowning and gloving surgical team members and draping patients
• Maintain aseptic conditions throughout the procedure
• Participate in intraoperative timeouts
• Label and handle specimens as directed
