Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Akron General is seeking an Experienced Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team on a 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. schedule with on‑call duties.

You will scrub, gown and glove, maintain a sterile field, and prepare tables and instruments for procedures under the supervision of surgeons and RNs. The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited Surgical Technology program, hold TS-C or CST certification (or equivalent LPN license), and possess BLS.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an accredited Surgical Technology program or military equivalent.
• Certification as TS-C or CST is required or equivalent state licensure.
• BLS certification is required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons in the scrub capacity during procedures.
• Scrub, gown, and glove caregivers and maintain sterile field.
• Set up sterile tables, instrument trays and supplies.
• Count instruments, sponges and needles with RN and document discrepancies.
• Assist in draping patients and operative areas; anticipate needs during surgery.
• Assist as a circulator under RN direction and transport patients as needed.
