Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist for the Outpatient Rehabilitation: Parkside department. The position offers 20 hours per week (0.5 FTE) with a pay range of $38.20–$57.30 per hour, plus a $2500 sign-on bonus for eligible experience.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology, a state license, and BLS certification. Responsibilities include evaluating patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive, and swallowing disorders; creating plans of care;

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited program and ongoing continuing education requirements.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
• Intermediate computer skills and ability to document accurately in electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

• Interprets physician referrals and conducts comprehensive speech-language evaluations.
• Develops written plans of care and implements individualized treatment plans.
• Monitors progress, adjusts plans based on patient response, and provides updates to physicians and teammates.
• Maintains required documentation, billing records, and scheduling.
• Assists with discharge planning and family/patient education.
• Ensures patient safety and infection control measures are followed.
• Supports performance improvement initiatives and collaborates with other staff.
