Job summary

Beacon Health System in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time day shift responsibilities. The role includes collaborating with patients and families and the healthcare team to set mutual goals, performing nursing assessments, and executing care plans.

Responsibilities cover diagnosis, treatment, evaluation of health problems, pain management, and appropriate physician communication. BSN within six years is required; BLS and RN licensure timelines apply.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 1 month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• Licensed Registered Nurse obtained within 3 months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
• The Registered Nurse must have an AAS degree or BSN or RN Diploma at start date; BSN is required within six years of start date.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the patient and/or family, and healthcare team, participates in open discussion to identify mutual goals based on the nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis.
• Diagnoses, treats and evaluates the human response to actual or potential health problems/needs.
• Evaluates the outcomes of the nursing plan of care and revises it as necessary.
• Assesses, detects, monitors and attempts to prevent complications associated with health situations or treatment plans.
• Notifies the physician of patient condition and response to nursing intervention appropriately and documents this action.
• Insures that patients pain is assessed, treated, reassessed, documented and evaluated. Adheres to policies and Procedures for Pain Management.
• Delegation to other licensed and unlicensed care providers based on clinical nursing judgment and skill of the care provider.

Education

AAS/BSN/RN Diploma (education at start date)
