Job summary

Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the night shift from 7 pm to 7 am in Neuro Acute Care. The role supports physicians and nursing staff, delivering hands-on care to patients, ensuring comfort, safety, and quality of care during overnight hours.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma, experience in acute patient care, strong communication, empathy, teamwork, and familiarity with clinical information systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in acute patient care is required.
• Strong verbal and written communication and empathy are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, and dressing.
• Record vital signs, weights, and heights accurately.
• Support patient mobility, ambulation, transfers, and ROM activities.
• Perform post-mortem care per hospital protocols.
• Conduct clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and glucose monitoring.
• Observe patients and report changes to the RN.
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
