Job summary

Ascension in Milwaukee, WI seeks a full-time RN for the Med Surg Neuro department at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital. You will lead compassionate, evidence-based care for stroke and brain injury patients, coordinating with physicians, therapists, and families to ensure a safe recovery.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, early intervention, and thorough discharge education to empower families for a smooth transition home. BLS and WI RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 1 month of hire or transfer date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from Wisconsin Board of Nursing before hire date or transfer date.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing school OR professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead compassionate, evidence-based care for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and surgeries.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care by serving as central hub between physicians, therapists, and families.
• Monitor patient status with high precision and identify changes for rapid intervention.
• Educate patients and families and plan discharge for a safe transition home.
