Job summary

100 LCMC Health's nursing team seeks a dedicated neuroscience nurse who leads care for brain injury and stroke patients. You’ll champion patient journeys, coordinate care touchpoints, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver direct patient care and a safe, compassionate environment.

You will monitor patient conditions, educate families, and ensure infection control and continuity of care. If you see barriers to timely or safe care, you escalate to supervisors, while delivering

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• NIH training provided during orientation and required annually thereafter.

Responsibilities

• Take the lead: prioritize, coordinate, and delegate care touchpoints.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure direct patient care.
• Maintain a safe environment and monitor patient conditions and family questions.
• Prevent and treat wounds; ensure infection control and environment of care.
• Advise supervisor if unable to complete tasks promptly, safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others when needed.
