Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Neuro/Med Surg Unit in Harrisburg. This part-time role offers 24 hours per week with day/evening shifts and requires every 3rd weekend and every other holiday. Title and starting pay vary by experience.

The NA provides ADLs, basic care, and assistance under RN direction. Responsibilities include documentation, reporting malfunctions, assisting with care, and maintaining safety protocols.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Successful completion of UPMC Nursing Assistant training.
• Knowledge of body mechanics.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides ADLs such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning and repositioning patients.
• Completes medical record documentation and reports equipment malfunctions.
• Responds to call lights and assists with meal delivery and patient transport.
• Collaborates with the RN and healthcare team to relay patient status and needs.
