Job summary

UPMC Community Osteopathic is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Medical Surgical Unit. This full-time night position (36 hours per week) runs 7pm–7am with every other weekend, every 3rd weekend, and every other holiday.

The NA provides ADLs, assists with patient care under the RN, completes documentation, reports equipment issues, and participates in unit activities while ensuring patient safety. Starting pay rate varies with years of experience.

Qualifications

• Performs activities of daily living for patients (bathing, feeding, transferring, toileting, ambulation).
• Documents in the medical record per procedures and RN guidance.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Performs system-wide competencies/behaviors.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department.
• Maintains patient safety and unit cleanliness.
• Delivers meals, transports patients, and responds to call lights.
• Assists RN with patient care and ADLs as directed.
