Job summary

MercyOne Trinity Health in Des Moines, IA is seeking a part-time Neuro ICU RN for night shifts (7 PM–7 AM), totaling 24 hours per week. The role emphasizes initial and ongoing patient assessments, care planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration in a high-acuity unit.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate degree (BSN preferred), Iowa RN license, BLS, ACLS within 12 months, and ability to work under pressure. Relocation incentives and weekend shift differentials are offered where eligible.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Critical care nursing experience preferred; no experience required.
• Current Iowa RN license (IL license if working in IL).
• BLS, Mandatory Reporter.
• ACLS within 12 months of hire.
• NVCI within 6 months of hire; ECG/ECMO related training as applicable.
• Proficient computer skills; able to work with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments; develops care plans.
• Coordinates and delivers patient care; delegates tasks appropriately.
• Reassesses patients; updates care plans and documents thoroughly.
• Communicates patient status across teams and during shifts.
• Administers medications safely; operates required systems.
• ECMO management for eligible patients including data documentation.
• Provide age-appropriate care and maintain safety/compliance.
