Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree required; BSN preferred.
• No experience required; critical care nursing experience preferred.
• Current Iowa RN license (IL license if working in IL).
• BLS certification mandatory.
• ACLS within 12 months of hire.
• Cardiac monitoring course or related critical care training.
• NVCI training within 6 months of hire.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work with diverse groups of people.
• Ability to perform under pressure and lead others in high-stress environments.
• If caring for ECLS patients as a Specialist: complete ELSO course and competency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan patient care; develop outcome-based plans.
• Coordinate and deliver patient care; delegate tasks as needed.
• Reassess patients; update care plans; document thoroughly.
• Communicate patient status across teams and during shift changes.
• Demonstrate clinical competencies; administer medications safely.
• Provide ECMO patient care, data documentation and education (if applicable).
• Deliver age-appropriate care based on patient needs.
• Follow infection control, safety procedures, and regulatory standards.
• Maintain professional integrity and comply with policies.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training.
