Qualifications

• BSN is required or preferred for Neuro-ICU nursing.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license is required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) is acceptable if the candidate commits to obtaining a BSN within three years.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data to identify outcomes and plans individualized care.
• Directs care and coordinates with any assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and other staff; documents plan and communicates decisions.
• Participates in shared governance, committees, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses and updates the care plan based on findings.
• Utilizes evidence and research to guide nursing practice.
