Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with commitment to obtain a BSN within three years of employment.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license (RN).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies outcomes, develops and implements plans, coordinates care, and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Directs care and determines the appropriate use of any assistants involved in direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; documents the plan of care and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates patient responses to nursing interventions and personalizes the care plan accordingly.
• Uses current evidence to guide nursing practice decisions.
