Job summary

Northwestern Medicine in Winfield, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse specialized in Neuro-ICU to provide full-time night shift care. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for acutely ill neuro patients, working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires a BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN, Illinois RN license, and BLS. Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills are essential; ICU experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN or ADN with commitment to obtain BSN within three years of first day in clinical nurse role.
• Current State of Illinois Registered Professional Nurse license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Strong analytic abilities.

Responsibilities

• Collects and analyzes data, identifies expected outcomes, develops and implements an individualized plan, coordinates care delivery and evaluates progress toward outcomes.
• Directs care and determines appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
• Collaborates with patient, family, physicians and staff; creates a documented plan focused on outcomes and communications.
• Participates in shared governance, committee work, and unit projects.
• Evaluates and documents patient responses to nursing interventions and personalizes the plan of care.
• Uses evidence and research to guide practice decisions.
